Holiday with my niece Jo.
She stayed at Kufunta with me for 3 days and went on Safari. Together we went to "Bush camp" for a long weekend, did some walking safari's and lived in a leaf hut overlooking a river. Tripped of to Malawi, where we stayed in a small tent by Lake Malawi. Hanni, my ex neighbor, joined us for a 4 days romp of the Salima Bay area. Visited Vic Falls, for two nights and stayed in the luxury of the Zambezi Sun (on mates rates).

A visit to the School of St Jude's was a real buzz.
On Friday afternoon I visited Veronica and her family at their home. On Monday I was able to spend morning break and lunch time with Veronica and her friends at school. I spent a supper weekend with the school staff (fantastic people). I managed to go to a local wedding, walk in the back blocks and got asked in to a home for a cup of tea by a Maasai family, not to mention the fantastic fresh fish meal I had at a local restaurant and time helping in the library.
Safari on the northern circuit in Tanzania
This included the Tarangire national park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater, Olduvai Gorge and a half day at Mt Kilimanjaro (time did not permit going to the top)

Olduvai Gorge,
the cradle of civilization

Zanzibar
I stayed over a restaurant in a newly renovated room. I could walk to all the Stone Town attractions. I enjoyed a days snorkeling which included a fish BBQ. Walked in the Jozani National park. I had been on the go for over a month so put my feet up and enjoyed a few afternoons reading by the beach. I found a hotel with a beach frontage, I just bought a drink and sat there all afternoon until sunset.
