We arrived about 5 min after the Giraffe gave birth.
Here she is removing the "Packaging"

After some time the baby started wriggling. First it held its head up, then it made a few abortive attempts to stand up.

Three other Giraffe stayed around to protect mother and baby from predators.

Standing at last. Wow!!
I had a lump in my throat as I watched the baby fight to stand up.
We then continued on our Safari. About two and a half ours latter we returned and saw the young one suckling.
I hope to see it again in a week or two.
