About Gaye

Gaye's background.
My involvement with Cambodia began many years ago when I visited several orphanages in Siem Reap which at that time was a sleepy little town with few visitors and even fewer attractions. In those early days it was rare to find a hotel with a swimming pool unless you could afford five star luxury. It was difficult and expensive to find western food, but times have changed. Tourists are discovering Cambodia, the infrastructure has improved and tourists are much better catered for. When friends learnt of my visits to Cambodia, they offered cash and gifts to give to deserving causes. It all culminated in my taking shipping containers over full of clothes, food, books, educational aids, bicycles, surgical equipment, medical needs etc.

This helped me to establish a library for the orphan boys in a Pagoda in Angkor Thom, set up a medical clinic for abused women near Phnom Penh, provide bicycles to a Kampot orphanage to enable children to get to school and much more…
The more I visited, the more I saw of the desperate living conditions and needs of the people not only in the rural areas but also in the big towns.

For information about the documentary I'm presently co-producing, please go to camp32

This is the true life story of a survivor's time spent incarcerated in a secret torture camp run by the Khmer Rouge in Western Cambodia. Up to 30,000 innocent adults, children and babies are believed to have been executed or starved to death.

I'm passionate about Cambodia and at the same time, broken-hearted by the recent history and the unbelievable difficulties in trying to subsist on as little as a dollar a day or even less.
Let me share my passion with you and give you an unforgettable experience going off the beaten path and showing you a different side of Cambodia.

Reference from Tim Purdie
Last year I was very fortunate to spend 5 weeks in Cambodia with Gaye Miller co-producing a documentary. Her passion for the country and the people is second to none. She is running a 15 day tour around Cambodia in May 2012. Gaye is incredibly well connected and will no doubt offer a unique experience. On top of this the proceeds will go towards her humanitarian work. Please pass this info onto anyone you know who might be interested.
